I just installed my new bfg 6800gt and it runs fine. However I get a warning message during POST telling me " WARNING! ADDITIONAL CARD CAGE FAN NEEDED FOR PCI EXPRESS CARD OVER 75WATTS. PLEASE CONSULT COMPUTER DOCUMENTATION FOR FURTHER INFORMATION. F1 TO CONTINUE, F2 FOR SETUP".

I have installed an additional fan - Antec cyclone blower, and I know it is working properly and temps are fine. I still get the warning message though!!!!! I have a new DELL and tech support is completely useless - they have no idea what to do to get rid of it. Would greatly appreciate any help

thanks

I've found it's always better to build your own computer because you can pick what parts you want. I've done it and it seems like I have one of the most stable rigs in these forums.;)

I think thats just dell trying to save dumb users from killing their cards. Seems like if the card draws over a certain amount of watts they flash that message at you. Go into the bios and see if there is an option somewhere to disable it.

Thanks but I dont know how to get into the bios. I am still noob enough to not have gotten around to tinkering in bios. Unless you are referring to F2 setup during POST.

I think you should just send me the card and take my 6600GT.

It won't give you a message.
