Why not demo that aspect of the game then?
What I saw in the clip seems just like CoD to me.
Did someone pis on your cereal?
No one cares about SP.. well.. a few do, but mostly people buy it for MP action.
False...why else would there be a SP part?
So that people with no hand-eye coordination can feel good that they can kill something on their 1546th attempt at playing the SP game.

Not everyone plays games to compete against other players over the internet.
Or...perhaps...for a story? Not everyone plays games to compete against other players over the internet.
I would be surprised if 1% of the people who buy any BF title are looking for a single-player story. The game is all about the multiplayer. Always has been.
Nice own goal.
You want to advocate skills as being important, you try ARMA2 2...a mil-sim.
Not a crappy FPS game.
Thanks for the laugh though.

I tried ARMA2 and I died quickly...of lack of skills.
FYP.
Spray 'n Pray games tend to make people (falsely) think they are badasses.
I tried combat IRL.
ARMA1+2 is the closest thing you get on a PC.
Again...nice own goal![]()
Well, I haven't played any game in the series. The only FPS I ever bought for competitive play (tournaments and so on) was Quake 3. Now that I don't have as much time to be competitive, I'm more interested in story driven games (but I still enjoy, and am still rather good at, FPS games). I'll read up on the BF series and see what the SP modes were like, and if they are terrible I guess I can give this game a miss.
Oh, and I still played the SP mode of Quake 3 (wanted to get the nightmare emblem on every stage).

The BF series has always been "arcadey". Maybe you should start a new thread for your ARMA2 fanboy trolling.
Again...nice own goal
Same thing applies to you too.
No one is forcing you to buy BF3.. and if you are such a big fan of ARMA series... it is fine.
It's was a side-debate...so no "own goal" for me..I didn't make a less than intelligent claim to have it backfire...nice try.
And no I won't be buying this.

Based on that, I don't think the BF series really has anything to offer you. The single-player campaign has been at best perfunctory in all the installments of the series. They have to have one, so they put one in, but nobody buys the game for that. If I recall one of the earlier titles, maybe BFV, didn't even really have a single player game, but just some training missions or something along those lines. A BF game is all about large-scale, open-map, squad level multiplayer combat.
That sounds reasonable. The question from my end is: if the game has such an extreme focus on MP, why offer SP teasers in their trailers? Why not some internal multiplayer games (which I am sure they have done?). My thought is: they'll try to get both markets. The player like me (who is interested in a story) and the multiplayer enthusiast as well.
I'm not sure why they chose to focus on the campaign first, but a title like BF has so much of a community and fan base built up around it that they probably feel it's safe to assume everyone who cares already gets what it's about.
Or it's because not every game (even a sequel) is necessarily designed to appeal to the existing fan base.
