New BF3 player, having issues with it locking up

Hi,

Bought it since it was on sale this weekend to test out my new EVGA SC 670 and Catleap monitor.

Was playing on ultra settings at 2560x1440, i turned shadows down to med and seemed to stay around 50 fps.

I have a older i7 860 and 8 gigs of ram.

My video card is staying around 81c right now, is that running to hot under load? Once the game launches it pretty much stays between 80-82c.

I can play about 10 mins or so and my PC locks and i have to turn it off with the power switch on the back to reboot.

Any monitors i should run besides a GPU one?

Any idea's on what to do to keep it from crashing?

** Played Tribes Ascend some i am around 81c there with no issues, i did hit 84c in another BF3 game i played it locked up again after about 5 mins.

May have fixed it, played a game without crashing. I will test it some more.

Loads out at 84c and stays there though, any reason to worry at that heat?

yea dude, check your CPU temps.

The gpu should be fine, but if you can run open chassis and test it, that'd tell you if 84 c is the issue. ^_^

I found something when i googled about a scannow in the cmd window as admin, seemed to have fixed the issue have not crashed since.
