New BF2 patch 1.2=kick to desktop?

Well I did a re-install of the game and patched with the full version of 1.2. Game will not load a map now as about half way through it kicks me to the desktop. I re-installed again and played without patch- no problems with single player or multiplayer. But when I install the patch(tried different download sites incase of bad download) it will crash me to desktop everytime.

Anyone else having this problem?

Any ideas on a fix?

lol mine never stopped havign issues from the special forces launch patch... mine still randomly locks/crashes and i havent even patched to the new one yet..
BF1 was way more stable =/
 
Heh - I hear you- I finally had mine stable for quite a while until I wanted to re-install game on different hard drive. Now just trying to get it back running on original hard drive and I don't think this new patch is helping my effots...

Edit- I am also running everything at stock speeds for stability for the installation for those of you saying 5 hours prime stable(in sig.)- yeah good luck....
 
I had this problem prior to the patch . The problem in my case were my sound drivers (I'm using a Shuttle with onboard sound... because nothing else fits. 🙁 )
 
I love the pathes that are worse after the fact...I was running great prior to the patch...now every game I get into today...I lose my connection half way through the map.

While playing...I get the sh!tty "THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR CONNECTION" message.


on a side note...the new sniper rifle is ruining the game...now any retard can get a one shot kill...

it is like sniper rifle for the handicapped
 
Hehe - maybe if I get this up and running I'll have to use an unlock I've got coming for the new sniper rifle!! I am going to re-install windows tomorrow so maybe I'll try to install game before sound and video drivers.

Do you have SF ? if you do not have SF or the other new booster pack you apparently do not get the unlock for the new weapons

Well I do have SF- but still thats kinda cheap/lame on EA's part(or DICE?) if that is true!! I wish I hadn't gotten SF right now with all this wasted time trying to get it installed and not being able to play the darn thing.:|
 
My system was ALWAYS stable with previous versions... last night after playing with the new 1.2 patch, I crashed to the desktop TWICE in the course of an hour. LAME.

I still love the game, maybe it's just too much. I only have 1GB RAM and a "slow" computer (AXP 2500+) so maybe it's just saying "Uncle! Uncle!"... time to upgrade anyway, right? 🙂

I am the same boat as you on my other rig...I have everything at LOW...at 1600X1200 on a radeon 9800 and it barely runs....
