New Beta patch for Tribes 2, is it worth downloading?

YES! Get it!

The only drawback is that not many servers are running it. 5150 Comp East and West were running it, and still are, but they've since locked their servers. CDL has it up, and there are a few more. It may go live next week as an offical patch, so you won't have slim server selection for too long.

The changes are excellent, especially the vehicle weaponry. The tank and bomber now have seperate energy supplys for the weapons. I think the mpb does as well. You can use them all day, and the energy for the shields doesn't get depleated. The shields are shared with the boosters still.

You can always go back if it sucks for you with the reverse patch. But, if it gives you a new error, post it in the beta patch forum. If it's something no one has reported, they can get it fixed asap.

When you install it, make sure you put it in \tribes2\gamedata\patch and run it from there. I ran it from the desktop and FUBARed my t2 install, had to reinstall to get it working.

as far as the 5150 servers... we have passworded them, but they are still open to the public.. We've set up a system called "RAID"(kills llamas dead) that helps weed out the tker's, trash talkers, non teamwork oriented players...

you can do a tribe search in game for RAID and there will be details on how to obtain the password for the servers... if you guys have any troubles working through the process... or questions, just pm me or post here.
