new beta bios for A8N Sli Deluxe (1009.002)

I tried to be the guinea pig, but I can't get the download to work🙁
When I can get their stupid website to work, I'll check it out

Well I got the China site to work

It doesn't fix the 1T issue, and it doesn't fix the Asus probe issue. I didn't see anything different from 1007?

Oh well. I keep holding out hope for the 1T issue to get resolved. Not because I care about it personally, but just so people stop bitching about it.

yeah, i have gotten over the 1T issue as i use a divider anyway, but the damn probe not installing is pissing me off.

guitardaddy, i assume you installed 1008-001 bios and probe went nuts, and now when you try to reinstall probe it says it is installing and configuring and then nothing?

I'm glad to see that the Probe problem is ASUS's problem and not my OS or something.

What is the 1T problem? I've always set my timings to 2-2-2-5 1T @ 2.75v, and never had any problems.

Has there ever been a mobo with more beta BIOSes? What a bunch of asshats Asus has become; if they were actually competent they would fix the issues and release a final BIOS already.

yeah probe is an asus problem, i reinstalled my xp pro and still no go, even flashed back to 1003 bios and nothing, but everst and aibooster work fine, go figure. the 1T issue is for overclocking, when you try to go over 250 FSB and keep the memory at a 1:1 ratio, you cant, not stable. 1T setting is fine below 250 fsb or when using a divider, as long as you stay at speeds below ddr500 you are fine (with 1T).

now is there a new problem with ASUS A8N Sli i didnt knew about probe not installing.

I will be getting this mobo and wanted to ask will a revised mobo have the 1T issue
fixed.

I have scraped the idea of getting the DFI as i will have to import it from US i stay in India [so if any problem happens with DFI i will have to send it back to US].

Hope ASUS gets the 1T issue fixed in there revised mobo.

Also wanted to ask you will it detect the SanDeigo Core processor as i will be using
A8N SLi with a 3500+ SD [wanted to ask if SD is available as 3500 or starts from 3700]

sorry for going offtopic but cant resist the tempatation to clear my doubts.

I would stick with the 1007 final bios until Asus comes out with a better final bios for this board, I am satisfyied with the 1007.

Having used several ASUS mobos, I've found the ASUS Probe to be quite buggy at times:

An older version of ASUS probe sometimes would not work with my ASUS CUBX mobo, but the newer version would.

Since you can easily download quite accurate system monitors, such as Everest, Speedfan, etc, I see no need for the ASUS Probe for now,

until they release a new version that works with the ASUS A8N-SLI.

it is just weird that going to 1008-001 bios just completely messed up probe while all other programs that really have nothing to do with asus work just fine. asus need to get there act together, asus programs should work with asus boards IMO. (and yes i too agree that probe is a ugly and relatively week featured program, it is more the annoyance than anything else that bugs me)

Yeah, so true -- it surely was weird to have ASUS Probe behaving the way it did after flashing to the newer Athlon X2 enabled BIOS, and then refusing to reinstall after I uninstalled it.

I don't have a problem with the many BIOS updates on this ASUS board at all. IMHO, there were several factors leading to needing so many BIOS updates. 1) A move to a new chipset. This was practically the first widely available motherboard for the NF4 chipset out there. 2) Overclocking issues with the original BIOS's that shipped. 3) CPU revisions by AMD that required a BIOS update (not ASUS's fault, everyone's gonna have to update). 4) ASUS actually releases beta BIOS's to the public. They could just release finals but I'd bet everyone would still be bitchin over not having interim fixes before the final BIOS is released.

I'm still using BIOS 1004 and feel no reason to change as it's as stable as can be. Haven't had any issues with it so why mess with a good thing?

I'm still using 1004. I like to stay up-to-date on the latest greatest stable release. Is 1004 still the winner or 1007 a step up from the rest?

I am using 1007 final and I have had no problems in fact it overclocks well, I see no need to change since 1007 supports the new CPUs. There is a old addage, "IF IT AINT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT."

The newest BIOS revision allows you to use the dual cored Athlon64,

and it's not the BIOS that's at fault with the ASUS Probe, it's just that the current Probe will not work with the latest dual core enabled BIOS for the ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe/standard.

1007 also supports the dual core revision E cpus.

1. Support new CPUs. Please refer to our website at: http://www.asus.com.tw/support/cpusupport/cpusupport.aspx
2. Support CPU Voltage warning message on POST
3. Add Help String for AI-NET.
4. Add AI-Selector Item
5. Modify SETUP String and its discription of DRAM Over 4G remapping function

Also, Sli is evolving. So I have no problems with the beta's either. In fact, I've always had better luck with the Beta's than with the officials. 1007.004 was a great one!
