New Beep Coming From the PC.....

Running XP Pro. Using Outlook Express 6 as my email program.
Noticed since last night when I had to swap out a defective new hard drive for a spare one, that each time I open OE6, or delete an email, there is one beep coming from my case. I may be crazy, but I don't ever recall hearing a beep each and every time I opened OE, or deleted some spam.
Is it me, or is something devious occuring?

Wierd; do you notice the beep at any other time or function. Is it possible that an option within OE6 got changed to allow audible tones when certain operations are performed in OE6? (I've never worked with OE6, but that sounds like something Microsoft would do 😉

No. The beep is only when I open OE or delete any message. I'm not aware of a setting for audible tones in OE, but I'll look into it.

is your sound card functioning properly? maybe you forgot to reinstall your soundcard drivers and instead of playing a window sound, it's using the beep-beep
