Just got this bed from Costco Home.....$900.....

It's really nice, heavy duty etc......

But it's got this grey/green substance on most of the wood inlays....You can't wipe it off.....has to be scraped off with a finger nail.....

I'm assuming this isn't normal.....but figured I'd ask around before I raise holy hell at the store.

Probably an oil that is used in the manufacturing process. Did you try furniture polish?

Looks kinda like wax, maybe the 70 year old lady in malaysia who carved it ploished it up for you after she was done

Some sort of finishing compound would be my guess. Probably something wax based to polish and protect the wood.

Yea, it was packed away in a box, all wrapped up........Couldn't have been opened and repackaged........plus they were out of stock for weeks and just got 3 in.

I'm gonna try some wood polish tomorrow, as well as calling costco.
