I like low-brow humor that has actual wit such as Something About Mary or Austin Powers.

Or Mike Judge's own King of the Hill, Daria (spinoff char from BB), or Silicon Valley.
I don't think Daria has anything to do with Beavis and butthead.

"Daria Morgendorffer, the show's title character and protagonist, first appeared on MTV as a recurring character in Mike Judge's Beavis and Butt-Head."

Huffing paint episode will never be beaten. Unbelievable they aired that even though it only aired a handful of times.
In the new movie Beavis screams FIRE! a lot. You could tell that dumbass lawsuit BITD really pissed Mike off. As well it should have.

I also think Dumb & Dumber is one of the greatest movies ever made.

I loved Dumb & Dumber. "So you're saying there's a chance . . ."

And I am a fan of South Park, so I don't think anyone can accuse me of not taking to B&B because I'm, "too "sophisticated & intellectual" to laugh at stuff like Beavis & Butthead."

For me, when I watched B&B it felt like they were pounding, over and over again, on just one or two notes on the keyboard of stupidity, ignoring the other 86. Plink, plink . . . plink. Ok, then. 88 > 2.

But, eh, plenty of "sophisticated & intellectual" folks LOVE B&B. So, in the end it all comes back to this:

De gustibis non est disputandum.

From your link:
"There was also a music video where a man runs on fire in slow motion ("California" by Wax). Beavis is hypnotized by it and can barely say "fire"."

^^^ Kinda makes me want to take another look. <shrug>

Not liking it could partly be generational. It was definitely a product of its era.

I think I saw every episode of the OG show. People forget it revolved around their sitting on the couch watching MTV music vids when they actually still played them. Had a bit of a MST3K vibe.

The fire controversy lead to an episode Lighting Strikes, where the boys try to replicate Ben Franklin's kite experiment and get electrocuted. Mike crushed it by responding like that to the news, and every other idiot on the blame TV, video games, etc. side.

that’s pretty much my point. Your brain has better stuff to do that be hit with the same thing over and over.
Where as mine is very happy with it.
I am serious, I believe intelligent people have different humor expectations and it is really about brain power, ya’ll are seeing the joke before it happens.

"Thinking sucks" -Beavis

Furthermore, what erudite gentleman, would not appreciate questions like -

“If you took an x-ray of your weiner would you see a bone?”-Beavis

I always quite liked it. Even though the specific social and cultural context was (and is) pretty-much entirely alien to me. It nevertheless reminded me in some strange way of the kids I went to school with (just with a different accent).

Well I was way off lol, I only saw B&B here and there and never caught Daria on there. My fiance and I watched through Daria recently on Paramount+ I think, holds up pretty well.
