My mx700 doesn't seem to be holding a charge as long as it used to, so I was thinking about getting new rechargeable batteries for it. There are currently two "High Power" brand 1800 mAH NiMH's in it that it came with. Can I opt for a higher maH (2200, 2300), or do I have to stick with 1800's? Also, do I have to find the same brand, or will any do, or does brand even make a difference? Is there a specific brand that performs better than the rest, or are they all pretty much the same? TIY

EDIT: Oh yeah, and while you're at it, where's the best place to buy batteries?

You can go ahead and get the 2200 or 2300 milliamp hour batteries. The voltage output for such NiMH batteries is 1.2, the same as the output on your current 1800s. Since you're talking about a mouse with a docking station, I would advise that you not spend the extra money to get 2000, 2200, or 2300. The mouse will spend most of the time on the charger, so life per each charge isn't much of an issue. As for brand, it doesn't really matter. Any brand will work fine, especially for a low draw and oft recharged application such as in your mouse. I have gone several places buying batteries, including camera stores, technology stores such as Radio Shack and Best Buy, and retail stores. I've found the cheapest batteries at places like WalMart. Hope this helps.

It only uses 2 AA cells, just replace them w/ some cheap new batteries, they are around a $1 apice and most likely more than 1800mAH if you get them new and you should be fine. :)

I'm even using those Rayovac 15 minute rechargables. Keep in mind that they do not recharge in the Logitech base in 15 minutes. Takes the usual amount of time. Occasionally, I forget to put the mouse on the base for several days, then I just take them out and recharge them in the Rayovac recharger for 15 minutes.
