Oh, and their single is "One Step Closer" if you wanna obtain it.

Bleh... just another wannabe metal band. They can't sing worth crap, and can't really carry a tune either. WTF is with all this rock-rap crap nowadays? If you're gonna do metal, do it right...

Metallica rocks! :D

I just saw:

Linkin Park (best of the no name bands, except for maybe Fenix TX)
MXPX (lame except for Chick Magnet and Punk Rawk Show)
Pennywise (pretty good)
POD (incredible)
Papa Roach (damned good)
Incubus (calm after the POD and P-roach storm, kickass set)
Deftones (stole the show, plain out amazingly satisfying)

Hey Seph, check out a band called Reville if you haven't already. Dowload the songs Permanent and Butterfly.

This band has some potential.

Oh yeah, Hed(PE) was there too. They were alright.

Ooh, and ORGY :) They were awesome, but the mixer guy was playing around too much... Just turn it all the hell up! Check out "Fiction" if youve been living under a rock, its a new orgy song that just owns :)

Dave-

AMEN BROTHER! 90's rock, metal, whatever the hell you want to call it, just plain fsking BLOWS. ;) I just can't get into it. It doesen't make me bang my head around. It makes me want to shoot my radio.

I am dead serious when I say I haven't heard one new band that I like. Some of the Punk bands are okay, as far as their music goes, but they're no Metallica. Blink 182 comes to mind.

I own 10 albums. Yes, that's right, I have 10 albums to my name.

Kill 'Em All
Ride the Lightning (24 karat gold digitally remastered)
Master Of Puppets (24 karat gold digitally remastered)
...And Justice for All
Metallica(The Black Album)
Live Sh!t: Binge and Purge
Load
ReLoad
Garage, INC.
S&M

I highly recomend the 24 karat gold remastered discs for any Metallica fan, they rock.. especially for Ride the Lightning, which sounds like it was recorded in some deep, dark cave... <G>

i would if it was in stores nearby...and if i had money. i have downloaded most of the songs off it. i must say, Fade to Black is just orgasmic on there. Definitely the best version i've heard...not counting when i attempt to play it on my guitar :p (actually i can play the entire rhythm part and some of kirk's parts....but i'm still a guitar newbie)

well i've been playing my bro's guitar on and off for about a year. i got my own (a nice black Ibanez which i like very much even though it's a baseline one :)) in july.

i can play quite a few songs, but keep in mind my skill isn't too good so they don't sound as good as an advanced player playing them. also i can't play any solos (i don't even try)

so far i can play fade to black, quite a bit of master of puppets (it absolutely kills my arm, especially with me being a skinny guy), nothing else matters (haven't attempted the solo yet, but other than that i've got most of it down), for whome the bell tolls, motorbreath (it's soo much fun to play), a few parts of four horsemen, seek and destroy, intro to sanitarium, the famous (beginning part) of pulling teeth, intro to One (heh heh), a lot of am i evil, some of creeping death, first parts of call of ktulu, a little part of blackened, the awesome slow part of to live is to die. pretty much i can play bits and pieces of a lot of metallica songs.

and for non metallica songs, i can play: simple man (skynard), most deftones stuff, One (U2), Wonderwall (Oasis), smoke on the water (soulfly version), intro to under the bridge, scar tissue, and californication (rhcp), intro to today (smashing pumpkins), sweet dreams, coma white, and beautiful people (manson), and other stuff i can't really remember.

what all do you play?

ps: before i forget, you guys should d/l NIN's remix of My Own Summer (deftones)

Awesome :) Yeah, same here.. I can play bits and pieces of a lot of Metallica songs.. I can can't play any solo's either, although I desperately want to learn ... :( I've just learned the first few notes to the Seek and Destroy solo, but i can't even begin to play it as fast as Kirk does..

I can play all of seek and destroy, all of Am I evil, all of master of puppets(It took me many months just to be able to pick down at 220bpm, er, well i can play some of the middle slow part), Breadfan, Blitzkrieg, some of motorbreath, all of the four horsemen(Well.... still practicing the part after the "main" part, that damn gallop that starts at around 2:10).. lesse.. most of enter sandman, parts of through the never, holier than thou... lesse.. Blackened.. parts of and justice for all, parts of frayed ends of sanity.. hmmm.. all of Creeping death(now that's a fun song!).. can play the main part and chrous of fight fire with fire, but that one weird part is... weird <G> hmm.. can kinda play orion.. leper messiah.. Damage, inc.. probably a few others i cant think of right now..

all those "kinda" songs are songs that I know the notes, but need improvement.. heh...

I have most of the Metallica tab books.. dont have ride the lightning, or and justice for all, but I have some other books, like the art of james hetfield, and the art of kirk hammet, which have parts to the songs I dont have in them.. oh, and Metallica: Riff By Riff..

today I was learning Helpless.. heh.. and Last Caress/Green Hell..

I don't know any other bands.. No other band interests me enough to bother learning.. Well, I take that back.. I know some Blink 182, and a couple Ozzy riffs.. but..

What kind of equipment you got? I got a plain ole' fender strat, a Crate GX15 amp, and a Boss MetalZone .. God, I want a new guitar, or at least a guitar with some nice humbuckers.. A nice Mesa/Boogie stack would be nice too.. :Q

We should record ourselves and swap MP3s :) I have some of me, but they're oldish(as in, im sure im a lot better now), and it's of me practicing (playing along with the music)...

Last Caress is fun and easy as hell to play. It took me a very short time to learn it. I can also play the intro part to ...And Justice For All. I love that song.

Anyway as for equipment, i don't have anythign all that great. I have a basic Ibanez (i didn't get the cheaper fender strat cuz the ibanez has humbuckers). Right now i have a little practice amp, which is a Marshall. It's pretty small but it puts out like my roomate's mom. I also have a DOD Grunge pedal that really gets the distortion going (as if the amp isn't distorted enough), and an Ibanez flange pedal. Those two pedals are actually really good and expensive, but a friend of mine (a guitay maestro, if you will) sold em to me for really really cheap (combined the cost was less than that of a single pedal).

But as for recording, i have done anything yet. Don't you just have to plug the thing into your soundcard and record it? I think that's what it is, but i've never tried it. Plus i don't really have a soundcard...just some sh!tty onboard sound. Hopefully i'll replace it soon (i just got a call today about doing workstudy, which = $$$ for me!!!).

But yeah, we should do that some time.

What the hell is MxPx doing playing with a bunch of agro bands? I have not picked up their new album yet, what friggin' direction have they gone?

Seph: that's a pretty cool song, man. i like their guitar sound (even though the riffs are not complicated). The lead singer's voice reminds me of someone else's. but anyway, yeah, they're pretty sweet.

Linkin is good
Reville sux my nutz for breakfast
Metallica should die, NOW and FAST! Greedy bastards (NO, it has nothing to do with Napster)

Tool rulez all but Maynard sux for making that a side project. How the hell do you make something as great as Tool into a side project? It's beyond me. APC is good, but c'mon...
