Shopping for some new sneakers yesterday and I cam accross the New Balance model 80 sneaker at Finish Line on clearance for $29.99 (reg. $74.99). Nice comfy set of sneaks for the price. Womens are on sale too, so my wife got a pair as well :)

Links---> Mens Womens

This is good at Finish Line B&M stores too (bought mine at a B&M)

FYI: You won't find these anywhere else, the appear to be New Balance 800 series rebadged for Finish Line exclusively.

Looks like a sweat deal. I wore out my tennis shoes and now I'm wearing some heavy hiking-style shoes. How do you like them?

So far after two and a half hours at work I give them a big thumbs-up! Really comfortable and fairly light. I'll give them a real test tonight when I go for my evening "Power Walk" around the neighborhood :)

I snagged a pair. Nice deal! :)

Comes out to about $36 shipped which is still cheap when it comes to name brand shoes. :)

Can anyone comment on the sizing of this sneaker? I have a wide foot and a high arch and over the years have noticed that generally the better the shoe the smaller the size I need. Should I order my normal size or a larger one to compensate?

If they weren't white I'd snag these... I run on trails alot these things would get so dirty.

cga: For what this is worth, I normally wear a size 11 1/2 - but when I tried this model in 11 1/2 the length was perfect but it was too tight on the width (my foot is just slightly wider than "average"). I tried a size 12 and they were PERFECT! I didn't really notice much more in overall length, but they were no longer tight feeling. Definately an advantage having a B&M store to try them on first (any Finish Line stores in your area?)

I think these are a standard width (D?) - you may want to try a half-size up from your "normal" (worked for me) - but I am no shoe expert.

Thank you ScoobMaster. That's exactly the first hand experience I needed. Unfortunately, there's no Finish Line in my area. At this price it's probably worth taking the risk and ordering a half size larger.

I just tried on a pair, and they were a little tight on the width comapred to other NB shoes. I could still wear my normal size 12 though. Good deal, even better if you can try them on first. The sales clerk immediately told me the premium Nike were 10 times better, but I told him I am used to NB. The next step up in NB was 49, but for that price I could almost buy 2 of the $29 pair. For running, its good to have 2 pair, one for comparison so you will know when your fist pair has lost its bounce and need to be replaced. Otherwise you will stress your legs.

There's a link on the finish line site in the lower left for a printable 10 off 50 instore coupon. Might be useful if you have something else to pick up.

Damn I wish these came in another color other than white.

Even grey or blue or best black.

Still a great deal, if they're comfy @ B&M I'll buy 2 for $58 - $10 off $50 coupon = $48 / 2 = $24 each.

I haven't bought anything but New Balance in athletic shoes for about 15 years. My feet are super wide and I get NB because they have quadruple E's. I used to go to one store all the time but found out recently that you can get real good deals on NB at other stores, so I'm farming new land. I visited my brother over Xmas and a fridge repair guy made a visit and I commented that he had the same sneakers as I did - NB's! He told me he got a super deal on them at such and such store, and I looked it up and bought 2 pairs for around $80. I'd paid around $75 for my pair, so now I have 3 pairs, which is way cool cause it's hard for me to find shoes that fit. If you've got especially wide feet, check out New Balance.

I picked up a couple pairs tonight in store with the 10 off 50. If you are buying them online without trying them, they are a crosstrainer and seem a bit too stiff to really use as a dedicated running shoe (for those that mentioned running in them).

Regular size should work. I normally wear 13s and the 13s of these fit me just fine. I tried the 12s but they were way too short. Some other types of shoes 13s are too big for me and I gotta wear 12s. Wish retail stores stocked 12.5s.

I wear size 11 and the last 3 or 4 pairs of NB I have also worn in size 11. I don't detect a size difference.

I'll be able to confirm this, this weekend when I buy 2 pairs of these.

I wear US Men's size 12 in Nike and Adidas, I'm sure that it will be the same for NB as well.
