I hope these are an improvement and are soon certified by Ati. My 8500 should be here soon hopefully. The screen shot compareing the 8500 to the Gf3 in 3D2K is awesome. The Gf3 apears to be cheating now.

Please post how the drivers work out my 8500 from Dell has shipped so I will get it next week. I have a 1700+ AMD on a epox amd chipset motherboard with ddr memory any tips I need to know about setting it up?

The 7XXX series Radeon drivers are already a hell of a lot more mature then those for the R8XXX series.

3286... those have been our for like a month!

Yea, I thought I read somewhere that this release only updated 98/ME drivers.

Well I don't think I've noticed a single change since the drivers out for win2k when I first switched over to it, all the way to now. Maybe a few more FPS in UT (bout time damn that game used to be way to slow in 2k) but really the fog doesn't work right/at all and we've gotten like no performance gains.

I justed tried the 9005 driver for Win 98. Improved the IQ and a 10 point gain in 3dmark 2001. Do noticed 10 more frames with the nature bench. Didn't really gain much speed, but better image.

Uhh you can use these with the 7000. I'm using them with my Radeon 64 DDR VIVO!! The Radeon drivers are unified. They work for all of the Radeon series.

3286 is not a new driver for 2k/XP--that's been out for a month now. I was expecting a new driver for this Christmas :|

I've been using the 6006 drivers for XP for a few days now. They're great. Used the 3286 drivers before this.

The 6006 come from Dell's Inspiron 8100 (for the Radeon Mobility 7500) so you have to modify the .inf file for your card. After doing so though, it works great. Not a hitch. Easily worth the few moments of your time to do.

6006 is a new driver but was not intended for 8500 officially anyways--some smart peeps found a way to get this driver to work for 8500 and found that this driver kick ass. But I want the official release ones where you dont need to mod anything to get the driver installed. IT's for XP--not sure if it will work w2k-but i gather it should.
