New ATI drivers with non 8500 cards.

Had anybody tried the new Radeon 8500 optimized drivers with older Radeons? I would like to try updating to those drivers, and I am mostly interested in Win XP.

I've used the 3286 XP drivers, as well as the Omega optimized drivers built off the 3286 XP with the Radeon Mobility (older radeon). They are a slight improvement over the older ones, but nothing jaw dropping. They seem reasonably stable though.

i tried the 3286 with my Radeon LE's and it's unstable at any rate. it lookes worse, 2d's slower.. and it crashes more... At least that's my experience.
