I wonder if these will fix the garbled text in World in Conflict Beta?

You know July is the time the drivers team from ATI get holiday time. You wouldn't see a decent drive untill late of August when the Ace programmer come back from their vacation.

The August driver release would already be in closed certification, ATI is something like 2 driver versions ahead of what has been released. Barring any unusual circumstances, any delay would be impacting 7.9(7.8 would be complete in full testing, major 7.9 work would have started when 7.7 shipped).

7.7 was just hurried crap - they enabled a few new settings ... maybe AMD's driver team's vacation is May or June :p
-or whatever ... it was rushed out in 2 weeks instead of 4.

Final Thoughts

This is one of the worst driver sets we have seen in some time. Not only did performance go nowhere on our lineup of games, but Company of Heroes actually took a small step backwards.
i am skipping Cat 7.7 for my "in house" benchmarks and will update it for 7.8s
[which is good for me, 7.6s are great ... and i am finishing OverLord ... great game with nice visuals - totally maxed out ingame settings at 14x9]

Yeah but the driver get last min bug fixing by Ace programmer if they crashing a game like company of heroes :(. 7.7 had a show stopper bug but still passed quality assurance as all the Ace programmer were on vacation and also ATI has the one month driver update policy which adds to pressure to release buggy driver. September driver release will have major improvement me think :)
