New ATI Catalyst 6.1 drivers

😕
I have Asus P4R800-VM mobo with ATI Radeon 9100 IGP. Running Win XP.
The ATI site shows this driver suite under Drivers for Motherboards with Ati Graphics.
I have read the release notes' installation instructions but am still confused as to whether I am supposed to remove old drivers and software first. These instructions seem to be a little different than the ones that are listed in the ATI Customer Care > Solve a Problem > Installation > ATI Drivers and Software > 737-20429: Installing the Display Drivers instuctions.

Do I have to uninstall the old stuff or not?

The best approach with all ATI stuff is to uninstall/remove first - then reboot, and then put in the new drivers, etc.

I happened to do that last night. Everything went flawlessly.
Thanks

I'm using these drivers, didn't see much of a difference from 5.13 Cats. I don't use CCC, just old control panel, and Ati tray tools. I just installed them over top my previous drivers. Usually I always uninstall and run driver cleaner. But this time I felt lazy.
