Will the new Athlons xp2400+ to xp2800+ work with current motherboards? I have an Asus A7VR333 (via kt333) and love it and would hate to have to upgrade my mb.

KT333 is not an old chipset by any means, and yes they will most likely work.

Yeah, they should work on it since IIRC, the A7V333 has the correct AGP and PCI divisors for 166mhz FSB operation. You may just need a bios update, but otherwise you should be fine. 🙂

LOL, I checked in here to see if I'd find any answers on running an Althlon XP on my A7V (kt133)...

I guess we each have our own opinion on what's an old motherboard 😉

Not only do you always beat me to the punch, but your reply is almost verbatim what I'd say....guess great minds DO think alike, huh? 😉 Insane's advice is spot-on...you're probably fine already.

You may need to get some PC2700 if you don't already have it, though.

As much as I love these boards, he said the following..

So, I just answered his question..🙂

... Arg, I think I'm slow. Not sure if you're joking around.

But I was serious.... will our boards support them?

Hooray, I read that it would, but I wasn't 100% sure. 😀

What about Bartons? 😀

EDIT: Insane3d, I also asked a question on the offical 8K5A2 thread on the motherboard forum, perhaps you could answer...

Thanks.
