I currently have a k5s7a motherboard, Tbird 1.2ghz and a *borderline* Sparkle 300w power supply. I say this because my power supply is not AMD approved to power a 1.2ghz - but it works well now

now with the new .13 core coming out, shouldn't the power requirements be less since the core voltage will drop?

with this new core, will current motherboards handle it (after a bios flash)?

I am just trying to get some answers, to see how much upgrading I need in the future. :D

Your motherboard will most likely support the Thoroughbred.

Are you having any stability problems now? If you aren't, I wouldn't worry about getting a new chip for that sake.

The ECS site has a new bios which lists support for a few speed grades of the Thouroughbred core.

As for the PS, I believe you're right....the core voltage will be lower, so if it works now, you should have no problems. Stranger things have happened though :p
