new athlon mb

Ok i just fryed my asus a7v motherboard i have an athlon 1ghz tb and 256mb of pc-133 ram
should i get an asus a7v133 motherboard ??
would i be able to use my 1ghz athlon tb in a ddr setup maybe one of the kt266a mb's ??
would pc-133 ram be pin compatible in a ddr mb ???

your current cpu will work fine in any of the new socketA motherboards

but... your ram is pc133, that means if you want to use the same ram you will need to get a pc133 motherboard (no you cant use your current ram in a ddr board)

your other choice is to get a new ddr motherboard and buy new ddr ram

Might take a look a newegg's refurb section. They tend to have some very good boards for under $80 that will allow you to use what you have. The have your old motherboard with raid for $65 and that includes shipping and a 30day warranty. People posting excellect results with the refurbs there.

thanks you two i might just look into getting one of the kt266a motherboards because of their future upgradability and plus i would just throw my old pc-133 ram in my other comp ddr isn't too expensive and i like new things heh
as long as my 1ghz athlon cpu works it's all good
maybe i'll wait for that kt266a roundup and see how they all compare
