A new female member, that went by the name of "ImABabeNImLonely" joined AT forums. She sent a link to her picture.
I'm a babe!
Also in her first post she describes that being so beautiful, she cannot get dates and is lonely.
This wound up to be disastrous. It caused 95% of the AT population to "spew" on their keyboards.
One, with the simultaneous shorting out of all the keyboards sent an electric pulse of over 25 terrawatts over the internet. This causing a blackout of the internet that Al Gore so proudly created. Fortunately the blackout was brief as ISP's and the government rebooted their servers and routers.
Second, was the looming keyboard shortage. Almost 30,000 keyboards were suddenly needed across the U.S. and abroad.
1.What were the Anandtechans to do without their keyboard?
2.Who was this woman?
3.It would be found in the future the actual identity of who posted the pic. It was not the person pictured. It winds up being a present AT member playing a practical joke.
