Wouldn't it be nice to have a button on the forums where you can automatically ban yourself for the time duration you prefer?

Like, right now.. I have two tests this week and two homework assignments and I have been studying all weekend. But, I keep getting distracted with AT forums.

I would click the "ban self" button and choose the 5 days duration from a radio button list in a popup window. Ah.. I could picture it now..

Plus, I could use it to moderate myself when I get out of hand.

LOL, that would be kinda cool.

Although, banning doesn't stop you from being able to read posts, only posts so you might be distracted anyway.

What would happen if a person accidentally banned themselves too long? I bet the mods would hate all the requests from people to be un-self-banned.

Agreed.

I have lots of stuff going on now and I keep getting distracted. I'll be researching stuff but this damn window is open too...grrr. Discipline...discipline...second semester senior...damn it! There have been times where I just don't have time for this place and so I visit rarely, but I really just don't want to do my schoolwork at this point.

I'm thinking about blocking this site on my router and having my mom change the router password without telling me what it is. Resetting my routers is NOT easy (requires shorting some pins and whatnot) so I won't be tempted. Heh. We'll see.

Then there would be a new thread type

YABPT= Yet Another Ban poll thread

threads where people create a poll whether or not they should ban themselves and for what duration since they have something academically important or important for other reasons.

Even if you do give AT the option to ban themselves some people can't make that decision for themselves even if you give them an option to.

Oh my god! Zuni did it! I started to look around and he has put a ban-self button on the front of my computer. It's amazing. All I do is push the ban-self button, and I am unable to post or read topics until I push it again. It's amazing!

Thank you Zuni!!!
