Do you have any room to move the memory over (ie banks 2/4 instead of 1/3, or go single channel and use 3/4) or are they all full?

The UD3P is xfire-able, so I assume that the other PCIe slot could be used. Be aware that the specs at gigabyte.us mention:

1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x8
(The PCIEx16 and PCIEx8 slots support ATI CrossFireX technology and conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)

assuming that it'll take a single card in that second slot, i think that you probably wouldn't see a real-world effect from the loss of bandwidth... (hmm isn't a PCIe 2.0 x16 running at 8x = PCIe 1.0 x16?)

try it, see what happens?

BTW is the on-board sound that bad that you want the Xonar? I have an UD3R on order but was planning on using the on-board sound...

put the D2X in the orange slot. A x16-sized slot can take any sized PCI Express card, including a x1 card like the D2X.
