So I decided to get a new monitor (XG248Q) in advance of my new pc I will build in a couple months. It's 240hz capable but I can't figure out how to open up that option. I'm currently stuck on 120hz max. I'm using the display port cable which is going into my gtx 670 (old I know). I have installed the drivers that came with the monitor and tried turning off/on freesync to see if that changed anything. No avail.

Any suggestions? Does my current gpu not allow 240hz? The 120hz is nice since I just upgraded from a 60hz monitor but it's frustrating me I can't get a 240hz option. Thank you in advance of any help.

I have figured out a solution for the time being. I created a custom resolution in the nvidia control panel and was able to get to 200hz. I'll have to wait until I upgrade to a newer gpu to get 240hz.

When i had my AMD 7950 connected via HDMI to my LG 32in 1440p monitor @ 75hz, i couldn't bump it to 75hz from 60hz in windows advanced display settings. When i just upgraded to my AMD RX580, the 75hz option showed up right away.
