New Asus Vento 7700 - not for those of refined sensibilities...

I happened upon this while doing some price checking. As hard to tell who is making this chassis for them as it was easy for me to spot the provenance of the original...

Vento 7700

And here's the Asus page.

Not that the original was all that popular around these parts, but there it is...

You'd be surprised at how many people think the original case looks really cool. We had a client bring it in for service and customers would just stare in awe at the case. It's an eye catcher, that's for sure.

LoL! Another good one, Zepper!

First of all, you present 'us' with Mountain Mods Lite, now it's an Alienware knock-off...

It's becoming evident that you have a computer case (and case fan) fetish -- much the same as Howard and his PSU fixation -- or GalvanizedYankee and HSFs.

Forget the case -- How did this happen? That's what interests me... 🙂

VinDSL, its members like Zepper, Howard & ...Galvanised, who have a passion for what they do & keep us informed and aware, are what makes it worth coming here.

Yeah, no kidding, huh? How did I miss that? 😕

Anyway, another thing I have never understood is why Alienware doesn't sell their cases. The only place you can find them is on eBay, and so forth. While it adds to their mystique, I don't see where it's addng to their bottom line...

Maybe you can explain that?!?!?!

Exclusivity! It's a big selling point when you're playing the game in the stratoshpere... But it was the same old Chenming/Chieftec/Antec inside - a pretty good design, ten years ago.

Lol
I very nerly bouht the old one...This is worse with 80mm's.Asus should stick to making mainboars , laptops & GPPU's.

that's the original vento case, mentioned in the OP, that has been out for awhile.
Aha! Good! Another learning experience...

As I was typing that post, a 'Limey' friend of mine, was looking over my shoulder.

He said, "Why do they have numbers on them? Is a 7000 better than a 1000?"

I blew him off by saying, "I dunno! That's just the way it is..." Actually, all I wanted to do is finish that post and get out of this thread, without having to explain American consumerism to the U.K. prick, pardon my French...

Well, that puts a whole new twist on things! Taking you at your word, I like the original better than the upgraded model, if you will! 😉

If you delve back into the archives you will find my posts on the vento in wihich I suggested buying an Evercase 42x2 series case, wihich was the basis for the Vento 3600, for about 1/3 the price.
