Probable be another week or 2.

But yea, the 655tx chipset looks like the new King of P4 boards

Any board based on this chipset should be cheaper than a comparable i875P board. Have you guys seen the info about the SiS 755 yet? I am really impressed by SiS's products lately. Too bad they didn't do for the AthlonXP what they've done for AMD64 and P4.

At the very least the prices of 865/875 chipsets will also drop. A win for all.

The Asus p4s800 looks unique in that it offers 4-Sata channels plus 3-IDE channels. Add in the 2 separate Raid controllers. All this for +/- $100 is going to be tough to pass up.

I've been drooling about this board since I read the review this morning. I can't believe that it will retail at only $100 when the Asus canterwoods are in the +150 range. This could actually be premature as well as too good to be true.

That's about $20 less than the P4P800-Deluxe. Add in that the P4S800-E Deluxe actually comes with the USB and Firewire brackets (P4P800 does not) plus an extra 2 SATA channels and Asus will have a winner here, plus will liley have to drop pricing on theie 865/875 boards.

The reason everyone is so hyped about this board because of this " New power design supports next generation Intel Prescott CPU ". How is this combo P4 2.4C or 2.6C with Asus/Abit. Worth spending $$ or stay with AMD 2800+ with Abit.

Pulled from ABXZone:
-------------------------------
Asus tells me the P4S800D-E (655TX) will be on their website this Friday (12/19) and should be available for sale between Christmas and New Years - by January 1.

Although www.partspc.com lists the item as in stock, and the live tech support will also verrify it is in stock, they do not have the motherboard, but they will gladly try to give you a substitute after charging your card.

I do not see the P4S800D-E (655TX) on the Asus website, although the P4S800D (655FX) is there. If you do a search on P4S800D-E or 655TX at the Asus website you come up empty-handed.

Nor is it available on pricewatch.com.

Yes, I do. I posted this before I downloaded the Gigabyte manual. Also, I like the colors on the Gigabyte board better ;)

How long has the dead link to the P4S800D-E been in the left hand navigation panel of the Asus website?

Why do they tease me?:disgust:

Oh, it is even better than a dead link. The link on this page for the P4S800D-E Deluxe leads to an Asus A7N8X-D socket A motherboard!
