new asus k8n mb problem

just upgraded to asus k8n and athlon 64 3000+ cpu. had o/s on raid 0 array, enabled raid in bios and made it primary boot device. disabled secondary boot. setup new array in setup utility. says to reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in select boot device. did the raid setup utility delete data on raid? i can't imagine that it did without prompt safeguards making sure that it was going to wipe the data. maybe a bios setting i missed? any help is greatly appreciated.
