New Asus DVDROM Won't Play Some DVD Videos

Hey all,
Recently got a silver Asus dvd-e616p2 DVD-ROM drive from NewEgg. I hadn't used it much until today and found out it won't play certain DVD Video discs for some reason. PowerDVD, WMP 10, or the built-in crap they put on some DVD's: none work with these certain movies. What happens in PowerDVD is it starts to try to play and immediately stops, displaying STOP. This has happened with 15 Minutes, True Lies, and a few others. However, LA Confidential works fine. I checked and both discs are dual layer, so that shouldn't be it. I have updated the firmware to the 1.07 Asus (latest) and a modded 1.07; neither had any effect. I have uninstalled, reinstalled PowerDVD to no avail.
Forgot to mention it reads data from DVDs or CDs just fine.

Anyone have suggestions?

Did you get the nVidia DVD Decoder? I have seen someone else posting that they are having issues with WMP10 and the new decoder.

Nope, no nvidia decoder. I've never had difficulty with DVD videos before, I had a Lite-On 16x that worked fine. Bump for more ideas 🙂
