Took the plunge yesterday and bought an A7V and Duron 600. Used my old generic 64m pc100,viper v330 pci card and Maxtor 15g 7200. I did the pencil trick and closed all the L1 bridges, they were open. Set it to use jumpers instead of jumper free. Set voltage at 1.6. First boot shows 800mhz?? That was without a hd at first. Installed hd, formatted and first boot, I get the bios screen, there's an error on the bus freq. Shut it down, changed to jumper free, rebooted, install win98 (quick i might add) and it still says its an 800mhz. Did the pencil trick make it think its an 800? Just curious. Anyway, its been running most of the morning with no problems so far. Ran wintune, not the best, for a quick reference. Results below.
