New ASRock Dual-Sata2 board hangs at boot

I just replaced my socket A setup with a new Dual-Sata2 board, and an Athlon 64 3000+.

All is well, except that my system hangs for about 45 seconds when I boot up before it says "Detecting IDE devices..." and so on, and then boots. Also, the Windows loading phase is extremely slow.

The entire boot probably takes like 2 minutes.

Thanks for your help,
Stew

Have you disabled onboard devices that you do not use in the BIOS?

Have you disabled RAID in the BIOS? I assume you do not have RAID.

Is your hard drive SATA or PATA?

What have you changed in the BIOS?

When I first got my 939Dual-VSTA mobo, I also had an extremely long boot,, it'd say detecting ide for like 30 seconds then boot to windows xp, weird thing is when I installed my slave hard drive, it booted about 3 seconds.
You can also try to set the HDD as the first device to boot, I don't remember exactly which one was the default, but I do know it wasn't my HDD as first device. Good Luck with the new ASROCKS! 😀

What is your BIO?S version?
You can download and run CPU-Z to find out if you don't know.

What have you changed in the BIOS?
