new apps on start screen Windows 8.1

I just installed Windows 8.1 and one of the new features is that newly installed apps are no longer automatically put on the start screen.

However, this feature is very frustrating for me as I have to go into the "all apps" menu and hunt for my newly downloaded app.

Is there any way to get newly installed apps to automatically appear on the start screen again - basically just change it to the way it was in Windows 8.0?

So the average user will have one hell of a time running their new programs. Terrific.

the app apps menu is especially messy for me since my programs just dump needless shortcut in there. And it's not that easy to separate the metro ones from the desktop ones.
