in any case, not as good as the spin wheel on higher end logitech mice😉
thats the better solution+ mouse gestures = win

I hate the scroll wheel on my VX Revolution. It's almost useless as a button, it always scrolls when I try to press it (whether I have it free-spinning or clicky). I had to re-map the search button to be the middle mouse button. I like the mouse, but I hate that scroll wheel.

Contact Logitech and see if they will replace it. Every VX that I have had (4 in all) has had a great clicking scroll wheel that never had any issues with scrolling when trying to click. Mmm, I'm clicking it right now... it clicks nice 🙂

Yeah I use VX Revolutions pretty much exclusively, LOVE them! THe Zoom button is useless, but the rest is great - perfect size (no wrist pain like large mice), great ergonomics, lots of programmable buttons. I even keep a backup in my storage box

Yea, I keep one in my laptop bag, just in case I need one on the road (more likely now that I have the PowerBook back in use, and therefore no 2 finger scrolling 🙁)

Part of me is always on the lookout for when they are on crazy sale (tyranicus got one on clearance at walmart for $20 once) so I can just keep spares in the closet. You never know when I will need to mouse... a lot.

Saw the 27" and 21.5" in person.

The 21.5" is a more normal pixel density, but the fonts are tiny on the 27". At a 3-foot viewing distance, I'm not sure I'll like using it with default Safari and Firefox font sizes.

Core i5 quad 27" iMacs starting to ship

Apple this morning began sending notices that it has started shipping at least Core i5-equipped versions of the 27-inch iMac. The company's first quad-core consumer desktop is now listed for Electronista and readers as "prepared for shipment" with an unspecified ship date. Such scheduling suggests that the earliest orders may arrive within the week.

Meanwhile, new orders of Core 2 Duo 27" iMacs are seeing 1-2 week delays.

EDIT:

I've gone from "Senior Member" to "Lifer" with a single post. 🙂

This iMac Core i7 is very, very fast. Greased lightning, as it were. 🙂

Compared to my iBook, it's 25X as fast in Cinebench CPU. 😛

Played with them a bit at the local B&M. I was extremely skeptical about the touch mouse, but I actually like it a lot. I'm waiting for someone to hack it for use with a Windows computer then I'll more than likely go pick one up.
