Hey everybody - if anyone is looking for a great HTPC or SFF PC, I successfully have transformed my wife's old Aopen EZ18 (was a great little machine back in 2004) into a pretty strong modern computer. Everything is white with a bit of chrome on the chassis and on the monitor.
I took out the old motherboard, PSU, HDD, and CD-ROM and have replaced them with:
Intel i5 3570K
Biostar TH61ITX+RCH (for Windows MCE if desired)
8 GB DDR3 1333 RAM
240 GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD
LG DVD-RW / BD-ROM with 3D Blu-Ray support
Intel 4000 graphics (I did try to add a Radeon 7750, sadly not enough juice in PSU I guess to do more than spin the fan with that card - I really think that would have made this thing a true SFF beast with very low power consumption and noise).
275W FSP ATX PSU (can find it at atxpowersupplies.com if you search for Aopen EZ18)
New wireless optical mouse and wired white keyboard.
1 x 80mm SilenX case fan (pull configuration)
Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (pre-installed and runs really fast on this)
I am also throwing in the LG 1780U monitor (very adjustable swivel/tilt/height adjustments), white JBL Creature 2.1 speakers, and a 320 GB WD USB 2.0 external HDD.
I'd really like to find a nice home for this machine. My wife has an iPad now that serves her computer needs and I don't like the idea of this thing gathering dust. I would like this to go to a person looking for a small white sleek PC that happens to run extremely fast and quiet.
I'm selling on ebay (ad goes live Wednesday Feb. 20th at 6PM Pacific time) and also have posted a video on Youtube showing how fast this thing boots and operates within Windows 7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FexsB5Tee1w
