New AntiVir version out!

I visited my parent's house over Christmas and my dad have McAffee installed-> tons of irritating pop up messages. AntiVir don't gimme no crap
 
Nice new interface, and they finally merged the update scheduler tray icon with the regular icon (one less tray icon to deal with 🙂).

Any new statistics on dectection dates/speed?
 
Well ive been using it since the day the new version was released, but this release seems VERY buggy right now.

#1. Automatic Updates don't work. It just hangs while connecting to server indefinately.
#2. Windows dosent always detect that Antivir is running and subsequenly pops up the Security Warning.

On a good note, the interface is much more appealing and seems to load quicker. I think for the time being though, im gonna go w/ something else until the bugs are fixed.
 
Awesome, my Norton AV 2005 bundled with my Thinkpad has just expired (3 month trial).

From the comments in this thread, AntiVir sounds like a good product. :thumbsup:
 
This has worked great on my comps, but it did not work well with one of my customers comps for some reason. When she updated to 7 it slowed down the shutdown ALOT, and would make windows freeze when you click the mouse. This is certainly better looking than the old one, but it definately has some bugs. It took me 2 hours to figure out the problem and fix it on this lady's computer.

yes, un-installed it and changed to avast.
 
Anyone know how I can turn off the Anti-Vir icon in the tray? I was able to do that in the previous version, now I don't seem to be able to...

There aren't as many options that can be tweaked or configured in this version.
 
When was the last time AntiVir Updated for you guys? Mine hasen't updated since the 10th. And when I try and update it manually It can't find any updates. Is it possible that there werent any updates for three days?
 
From the report tab, my antivir has been getting an update a day, everyday, from 2-4 to 2-11. Maybe you should pick a different time to run your update, I haven't an unsuccessful update yet.

Well, after a week of testing I finally uninstalled it too. It's a shame because I really liked all their previous versions. This one was more professional looking overall and had a better interface, but shutting down and booting up slowed down a LOT, as well as a few other annoyances..
 
My AntiVir says the license is good till 5/31/06. What does this mean. Are we going to have to buy premium if the license expires?

nope, the antivir people said don't worry about it.


as for lock up probs, it is gone.
