Too slick. Dare I say this looks better than the Fusion? The Fusion did have hidden drives, which was nice, but this looks very nice also...

man i just love antec's lifestyle series cases. Hopefully one day I'll be able to have all my computers sitting in these cases, it's just getting harder to figure out which one to use now. This overture is really awesome and will probably take the place of the minuet I was planning on getting for my wifes computer. This way I don't have to worry about half-height expansion cards.

does anyone know where I can purchase one of these? Newegg doesn't have them in stock yet.

-Thanks

They are suppose to be available around Sept 22nd for around $100 streetprice.

Not bad considering your getting a 380w quiet powersupply that's very well rated.

I just wish they would have made the front black.

i have the minuet, and in a way i kinda wish i had bought this instead, though its A LOT bigger in size.

the minuet is very pretty and slick, but quite possibly has the worst cooling of any case ever.

There's no mention of what kind of cooling is included with this case. I'm sure excited about this case though. It's gonna replace my Matx desktop computer. Wish Antec had more pictures.

The overture is In stock at newegg.

$99 and shipping is $15

Some of the reveiews there are less than flattering:

need a 24" IDE cable to reach hard drives on some MBs
ATX power cable not long enough
horrible cooling. Non overclocked systems having problems.

NEWEGG has a bunch of picts up.

Really weird layout for a desktop or HTPC case.

From the pictures it looks like the power supply is in the front and exhausts to the the side.

Is this a problem good if you have a narrow shelf in your AV rack? I don't know of any stereo equipment that vents to the side?

i have an antec minuet(well not using it anymor ebecause it sucks). and its just sitting in the closet. yes its beautiful. and feel sturdy.

but at non o/c 2500 barton, would hit 69C @ load, even with a 15cfm 40mm fan mounted. i was using a copper dynatron skivved heatsink as well. i wasnt skimping on cooling and my barton was going to fry. it actually shut down once to prevent cpu damage.

these "media" cases antec has been building seem to all be terrible terrible cooling solutions. i went ahead and just bought an inwin v564, pretty standard looking and nice looking microatx tower. the minuet and overture both seemto just have terrible cooling, i saw the overture, and it has NO vents or fans at all on the back nor are there any on the front. with the psu in the front , and now way to cool the cpu, i think it'd just get progressively hotter and hotter in there. what do they expect you to put in there a pentium 200 or something?

Your trying to overclock with a ~200watt PS, a insanely small case and then a tiny motherboard? You think this is made for overclocking?

Why did you put AMD proc in a case that small?

He's not overclocking

> but at non o/c 2500 barton, would hit 69C @ load,

Overture looks cool but I think I will pass: Side venting PSU, Short Cables bad cooling,

There has to be a ton of technology in making effeciently cooled rack mounted servers that should be able to be addapted to an HTPC computer. Something like a front to back airflow with all fans in the back to minimize noise.

Just saw this and took it apart at CUSA.

I must say it is a very nice looking case. I think it is the thinest case with full hight PCI cards on the market. Two external 5.25" devices, 2 external 3.5" devices and 3 internal hard drive bays, lots of room for expansion.

The ATX power cord for the MB IS short. If yours is anywhere near the rear of the PC it will be realy tight. This is VERY irritating, another TWO inches of wire would prevent a LOT of agravation.

Looking at this case, the position of the CPU and the ATX cord length makes it feel like antec JUMPED the gun and made a good BTX case. But there are no BTX MBs so they just made a BAD ATX case.

Airflow has got to be horrible. The fan that should be blowing cold air in flows right over the 3 hard drives. Or if the fan is sucking hot air out, then it will be sucking hot air from the PSU over the CPU.

I would hate to have to mod a $100 case. BUT I'm really trying to fit my computer into my coffee table and look good too. I'm thinking of two alternatives.

1. blowhole in the top. Heck even vent holes in the top. Heat wants to rise, let it out.
2. DUCTING. something like this:
Linky
3. Both 1 and 2.

Question about cooling....

I have an Athlon XP 1800, and I am considering getting this case. I will take the following measures to try to keep the CPU as cool as possible. What do you all think?

I will put th HD in the unused 3.5 bay in the front of the PC instead of in front of the rear exaust fan and I will put one of these Link in the slot that is next to the CPU.

So tell me what you guys think, will this be ebough?

Thanks
