NEW Antec 1080AMG Plus SOHO File Server - $97

You guys are going to drool all over this one... I just saw these in a magazine today. It's the new Antec 1080AMG Plus SOHO File Server. It's basically like the SX-1030 or SX-1040, but it's got a sleek new design and a beefy 430W power supply! I was having a hard time locating them, the mfg site says they are already out of stock, but I found a bunch of stores on PriceGrabber selling them, one for as low as $97 in-stock! That's an incredible deal considering that very power supply sells for $99 by itself at CompUSA!

Gonna replace that Gateway 6400 case (the one with the proprietary rails you can't get) with this nice beefy case.

funny, i've been trying to get a drive into my 6400 - i actually just e-mail gateway support asking them where i could find more rails

but i'm too cheap to replace the case - hell, if i can't find more rails i'll just duct tape the drives to the cage

that antec is one sweet case, though [drool]

might want to jump over to slimwallet and see about buying from staples special order plus coupon plus pricematch (if lucky)

and price should be arround 120ish (free shipping) even without price match a coupon would drop this down to arround 100

I don't know price for sure, but 120ish is what sparco sells this for (my previous exp. with staples was that they had a similar price) so ymmv

I got mine for 127 shipped from provantage.com not too long ago...VERY reputable company, just look at their resellerratings. And they ship from many different warehouses. I got mine in 2 days. Awesome case btw.

In my area, sales tax is charges, so ordering from out of state was cheaper for me. Staples price is $144.99. You'd get lucky to get it lower at Staples because their privacy policy says they factor in their coupons plus competitors shipping costs on pricematches, but they don't always remember to do this...

I've ordered from PageComputer in the past on an Antec SX1030B, they had great service. Figured I'd give TechSavings a whirl since they are cheaper this time and I'm not in a hurry at the moment. We'll see what happens... I just realized I ordered last night (10/31/02) and my credit card expired today (11/01/02). Doh! This might take a bit longer...

You do know these have been out since June right? I paid $105 w/shipping back in June...for the 1080B. So you might want to shop around a bit more.

Mangler, you got the one with a 430w truepower antec ps? I just ordered from staples PMing www.techsavings.com and got it for $112 shipped. Seems solid but if I can find a better deal, maybe for a 380 or solid 350w ps in a case, i'll order that.
