Its a lot like Locale but with more tweaks and its free (for 14 days, 3.99 UK after that).

However...I'm running 1.0.6b8 and it was a free download with no disclaimers about a fee. I'm assuming if you download the beta version (has a "b" in the filename) its free?

Either way. $5 for all that is great.

iPhone users can't handle this much control anyways. They'd rather Apple set it up for them how it wants and lock it down.

My Evo has shipped. Hopefully it will be here shortly to play with, this looks cool.

Did you ever get your questions answered?

You made a damn good choice in phones either way.
Ya, I got my questions answered.
I'll try the Evo/Sprint for 30 days. If the Evo or Sprint sucks I'll cancel.
We still have an account with Verizon that the contract runs out in December. But two smartphones with data on Verizon will be around $150 and some change. I'll save $30 a month and I'll cancel the long distance on my landline.
Gonna keep that for faxes and emergencies.

I've been playing with this for a day and it works great. I set GPS profiles for work and home. It automatically sets my Wifi, Bluetooth and ringer. I'm trying to get a car setting built in but I haven't figured that out yet.

I did pay the $6 to support the dev. You can tell he put some serious work into this.

anyway to get location based profiles work without gps? cell triangulation or something? gps uses a lot of data and don't want to leave it on.

hmm, could you use SSIDs of wifi routers?

its got a spot for your own script. I have no idea how to do that kind of thing though.

I don't mind the GPS. Don't you have a car charger?

can't use wifi, kinda defeats the object of it turning wifi on in places if i leave it on all the time anyway.

Gah, it doesn't do this? I was all set to pick this one up and replace Locale, but that's a deal-breaker. I don't want GPS on all the time either.
