:)
I have always been w/ team Intel, but I always root for the underdogs: team AMD, and so I am very expierenced w/ overclocking Intel chips, but I have no expierence whats so ever w/ AMD chips. Heres the Intel firepower: *Asus Cusl2
*PIII 700(143*7.0=1000Mhz.)
*256MB Mosel V. memory
*Creative Labs G-Force2 Mx
*Creative Labs SB-Live! Plat. 5.1
*Linksys 10/100 Fast ethernet lan card
*Adaptec 39160 SCSI card
*IBM U160 Scsi 18GB Hard Drive
*Plextor Ultra-Wide 40X CD-Rom
*TDK 12/10/32 CD-RW
*Pioneer 16X/40X DVD-Rom

And all this runs "ROCK STABLE, ALL DAY AND ALL THE NIGHT!"

Heres the AMD firepower:
*Asus A7V
*256MB Mosel V. Memory
*MSI 816 G-Force2 MX
*Creative SB-Live Plat. 5.1
*Asus 50X CD-ROM
*Adaptec 29160 U160 scsi card
*IBM u160 9GB Scsi hard drive
*Amd unlocked 750 rated to run at 1100MHz bought from Overclockerz.com

Where do I begin in the A7V? What FSB, multiplier, voltage do i set? Looking for the most stable as well as fastest bios setting for the AMD. Please teach!! And I shall be like water to absorb.

I have joined the "DARK SIDE OF THE FORCE"

Thank You!

unfortunately, the kt133 chipset doesn't really like high fsb speeds and you'll be lucky to get around 110. i'm not sure about the voltages for the durons, but i would think that 1.5 volts above would be safe, and if it runs stable on less than that, then you're great!

Bios settings: turn off fast-write. enable optimal mode. enable agp 4x. make sure you set your ram to the fastest (lowest cas settings) latency settings for the ram. turn off power saving.

You have left the dark side, not joined it :)

Generally speaking, first try raising the multipliers until it won't boot, then bump up the voltage and try again etc until you max it out. Keep an eye on the temperature. After that raise the fsb to get max overclocking out the system.

Since the cpu has already been tested at 1.1 ghz just try out at what voltage it can run at that speed. I don't think you'll be able to go that much higher than 1.1 ghz though.

You now have the force.

With Intel you have sadness, form sadness comes ummm... (i forgot the line) ... it finishes off with ... comes hate.

With AMD, you can now be a JEDI.

I would start with the processor at default settings in BIOS,
set the multiplier for default speeds, boot it up and get
it stable before I'd mess with overclocking anything.

If you're installing an OS on your new harddrive, do all
that at the default 750. Run Prime95, SisSoft Burnin,
Unreal Fly-by, or whatever just to be sure everything
is solid.

Most people, myself included, have better luck bumping up
the multiplier than the FSB. Since you have a guarenteed
CPU, I guess I'd go straight to 1100 at default core voltage.
If it doesn't work, just keep bumping up the voltage. Did
Overclockerz guarentee this speed only at a certain voltage?
Your ASUS will only go to 1.85, so if doesn't work there, start
backing off the multiplier.

Good luck.

Thank you all for the wise wisdom. Yoda would be proud. I will be testing out the AMD firepower this weekend, and untill then "MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!"

just a warning. Read all posts about overclockerz store.
For example and make sure you got what you paid for. Also please report how your system goes.
