I feel like a total noob.

For years I've been able to recite details that would amount to splitting hairs when it comes to CPU/GPU.

However I haven't read up on memory since my DDR3 Intel 2500k build back in 2012. Seems a lot has changed with DDR4.

In a nutshell, I am looking for a reasonable 3000/3200 16GB kit for a Ryzen 2700- B450 build.

Anything I should be aware of? SK Hynix vs Samsung vs Micron chips? Single or double sided?

Thanks!

Just make sure it's on the motherboard's QVL, or the RAM manufacturer's QVL to avoid any headaches. That way you will see not only see what works, but how many modules, and at what speed.

In general for Ryzen, look for Samsung B-die for high performance RAM. You can do some research to see what chips a given kit has, though for some kits there are multiple options.
