Over one thousand digital books, magazines, comics, etc. with a rotating selection free to read for Prime. Starts today.

"Starting Wednesday, Prime members can pick from more than 1,000 digital books, magazines, short works and comic books at no extra cost through Prime Reading."

"The rotating selection includes "The Hobbit," "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," "The Man In the High Castle" and magazines like Sports Illustrated, People and National Geographic Traveler."

Sounds good. Looks like you have to be the Prime account owner rather than someone sharing another's account, but I think that's true of several of their bennies.

I'm interested in free magazines but undecided between color or paperwhite Kindle.

What say you ATOT?

I ended up getting the basic Kindle just to see if I would actually use it first.

I like it so far and think I like reading on it more than a real book.

BTW looks like you missed out on the kindle deals when this was announced. $50 off paperwhite and oasis, $30 off the lower end models for prime members. I probably wouldn't have bought one without the discount.

Yeah I had considered it but wasn't 100% certain I'd use it. For non-magazine reading I'd definitely prefer the paperwhite.

Yeah, I might get a PaperWhite on a future sale. I think I like it better than a real book because it isn't so much to hold and you can kind of "gamify" reading by keeping an eye on the percentage read at the bottom. That on top of the nice features of looking up words and highlighting.

I plan on getting my wife one for Christmas. I'm a romantic at heart.
