New AM2 system: unmountable boot partition?

My specs are Athlon X2 3800+, paired with Asus M2N-E. I have 2x512MB of OCZ PC26400 ram, but for installation purposes, im running with only one stick. I got one of those new Seagate 7200.10 hard drives and thats where I feel where my problem lies. My problem is identical to this. I have tried "messing around" to see if I can get anything to work, but to no avail. I have a feeling that I need to change something in the bios, but I am not sure what. Any suggestions on how to tacke this problem are greatly appreciated, as I am running out of ideas. Thanks in advance.

totally not enough info but i can guess

0xED problems... ie unmountable boot volumes. can usually be fixed 90% if you boot to the XP cd and run "FIXBOOT" "FIXMBR" and finish up with a "CHKDSK /R" the last step can usually take like between 30 minutes to several hours dependant on how much dat u have how big the drive is and how many errors it has to fix.

One thing I forgot to mention is that this is a brand new build. I think my problem is not actually a corrupted MBR; rather, it has something to do with the hard drive or how the bios handles it. Either way, I still am getting a BSOD. This is the first time I am using a SATA drive. Is there anything different I need to do differently from a PATA hard drive?

Windows installs just fine. It's when I try to boot into windows for the first time that I get the BSOD.

OK, now I am getting somewhere. I'm using the default SATA driver instead of the one that is on the CD provided by Asus. However, I can only see 130 gigs of the drive (with the Asus drivers, I could see all 320gb). Even by going into Administrative tools in Control panel, I cannot see the missing space. Any suggestions?

130 gigs is the limit XP sees if you don't have the service packs installed. Maybe that's the problem?
