The speakers themselves go for >$200. Don't know anything about the MP3 player, but limited to 192k Mp3s. Seems like a decent deal. Also, there ought to be a $20 off new customer coupon floating around, but I didn't look.

Seems like a pretty luke-warm deal at best. With coupon though, it could be worth it. I got these speakers for $119 from CompGeeks.

I think Altec Lansing is really missing an opportunity not offering these speakers in black. They connect beautifully to the digital output of most standalone DVD players. IMHO, for around $100 they are an outstanding value in that they contain both the speakers and the amp. Plus they have a nifty remote control.

This is a relatively cheap way for anyone with a DVD player to get dolby digital surround.

I got this package for $180. No tax and no shipping.......with $20 off $100 coupon. The speakers are awesome and the mp3 player is pretty dope......it plays audio cds and mp3s.....I have about 300 songs on 2 discs.....started to run out of things to put on 1 cd......anyway EVERYTHING was shipped together within 3 days of when i placed the order............there is however one very bad thing about this package.........my dumb mp3 remote wont work more than 2 ft away from my mp3 player...lol.......so its useless!!!
