FUCKING good record, this chick is such a talented musician. A couple real bad missteps, especially the duet with Beyonce *shudder* It's great to see somebody that doesn't let the fact they're a mega star stop them from making good music and not pop garbage.

I picked up the new Robin Thicke also, but I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. I'm expecting it'll be great though. Dude is pretty damn talented.

She's also hot, I saw her on some talk show they asked if she'd ever had sex on a piano. She said no but that it's one of her fantasies. What an awesome fantasy, I'd sure love to help her make it a reality.

Damn she did a song with Lyfe Jennings? I've never heard it, I need to look it up. Her duets tend to be damn good, well except this mess with Beyonce, so fucking horrible.

Yes she did:) It was 'People Get Ready' or maybe its called 'Get On Board'.. Sorry, I suck with Song titles/any titles. The song was featured in Coach Carter or Glory Road. You would absolutely love it:) An oldie, but goodie, remade!

Eh, I dont remember her duet with Beyonce - thank goodness.

shiiiiit! That's an old Curtis Mayfield & The Impressions song, GOOD shit!!! I'ma hop on iTunes and buy it.

Curtis Mayfield's possibly the greatest musician ever, and crazy talented with writings songs too.

Haha, its beautiful huh?:) I love it!! Eh, it was Glory Road, not Coach Carter!

Thanks:) There was an actual video on Youtube with both A.Keys and L.Jennings performing live, but they have since removed it:( It was really beautiful though:)

R&B and soul? Meh. I'll skip.

Youre loss:p

Really? It sounds really good.. from the snippets I have heard. Music gets here so darn slow, so have no idea!

I liked it more when she displayed her piano playing and voice in her songs. This album seems more emotional than her other albums. Not saying her other ones aren't, they just had more of what I liked from her.

What are your guy's fav songs from the album? Maybe I'll give those a second listen

It's a very solid album through out. I have not skipped a single song as yet and I've listened to it numerous times.

My favourite tracks are in no particular order:-
Un-thinkable feat Drake
Distance and Time
Love is my disease

I 2nd it being very solid, but the song with Beyonce is pretty bad. I like parts of it, but when the melody cuts out and it's just the drums. It reminds me too much of Put A Ring On It, a song I hate. And just overall the song feels like a Beyonce song. B has a good voice, but I hate most of her songs with a passion. This seems more like a Beyonce song featuring Alicia. Aside from that, it's very melodic and the lyrics are good. Alicia's actually a good writer, her poetry book had some great pieces in it.

Nice to see someone else doesn't like Beyonce's songs. I thought I was the only one.

Nice to see someone else doesn't like Beyonce's songs. I thought I was the only one.

Her songs irk me, she has a good voice and I think with the proper producers and better writers she would be a lot more listenable to me. She's also a bit loud at times, and doesn't have the range to really go up down. Even with her voice not as good as it once was, Mariah still has a far superior voice to Beyonce. But B is selling millions of records and has fans everywhere in the world. I'm sure if she changed into what I liked, she would go from selling millions to selling a few hundred thousand.

Alicia's music sounds organic and much more soulful, even if her range isn't the best she has a good voice. It's strong without going overboard like Mary J does.

The remake of Empire State Of Mind without Jay Z is awesome. I really don't like the original, so I thought I wouldn't like this one. But with just Alicia it really became a whole new song.
