most likely because 99% of the music out there sucks

i just randomly hit up bands wiki pages and see if they have something new

I get Entertainment Weekly as my window onto all of the pop culture that I don't consume directly, including music.

Without it I'd have no idea what a Snooki was, and would be immensely poorer from that lack.
