New aftermarket stereo for 2005 Acura MDX

Ok so on all the cars I've worked on they have been pretty simple to change the head unit. With this vehicle It has two factory amps and Navigation. One amp is apparently for the Sub and the other is for the 6 speakers.
I have seen that new double din stereos fit in this car so what I'm looking for is some help on figuring out how to bypass the factory amp for the 6 speakers and hook up the factory sub and amp to a new head unit.

Any help would be appreciated.

When it comes to car audio for DIY types there is no better place for car audio equipment, advice, kits, instructions etc. at than crutchfield.com. I have installed several car systems with their help and both price and advice have always been excellent With a kit package their prices are hard to beet and they are a quality company too.I'd look at their site and call them explaining your cars present setup and goals? Avoid the scam artists on flea-bay and get some really honest help or bring it into a good car audio shop for the job.

Right off the bat I can tell you there's going to be the problem of powering 7 speakers with only 4 ch outputs from the headunit. And then there's the fun of playing mix and match with the speaker impedance.

You're actually better off seeing if you can integrate with the factory amps unless you want to go with your own.

To start with I always do a google search. I came up with lots of good videos etcby simply searching:

how to replace the head unit in 2005 acura mdx

Works for must things these days!

I ended up settling with getting a USA Spec Bluetooth adapter. There wasn't a lot of clear info out there and I was seeing people having issues with the factory Navigation.
