A router/lan/htpc case with a lil pizaz?

link

It's a $59 MATX Acrylic case (13.7x14.x5.6)

I have never really consided acrylic before. The cases are overpriced and too much work.

(They also have full size ATX acrylic cases for $79).

Two concerns:

Do MATX cases have adequate shielding for EMI?

How are they for muffling sound?

POWMAX? Lil worried about the brand name. Good/bad?

Though I hqaven's specifically seen the mATX, EMI is not, in reality, a problem on them so I would think that it will not be for this one eigther.

EMI = Electro Maganetic Shielding?

What do you need shielding from? Computer Parts are MUCH more durable than they were before,

Tabb

I meant shielding myself and neighbors from anything the computer generates.

More concerned with sound than EMI. How is acrylic for sound dampening?

Thanks!

better than straight metal if when you asemble it you use some type of caulk at all the junction points. otherwise it is no better or no worse.

Only 4 slots is a little limiting, although most mobo's now have everything built-on. But the thing that kills me is no motherboard tray. So you must be working with some sort of risers to keep it elevated up off the side of the case. Probably not a fatal flaw, but inconvient.
