Hoping someone can help - my new IP35-E configuration is stuck on hold.

I've connected everything carefully, double-checked power, cables, spacing of everything, fans, outer connections, etc.

On bootup, I get power, I can tell it's going throught POST as it boots twice from cold boot, but I get no video. Any suggestions? I'm connected to the VGA port on my video card (VisionTek X1650 HDMI - has VGA port, S-video & HDMI (card comes with a HDMI/DVI adapter). Here's my system config:

Antec 900 case
Ultra 500W power supply
IP35-E motherboard
E6600 2.4 GHz Dual core CPU
CoolerMaster HyperTX2 CPU Cooler
SATA Sony 18x DVD burner
IDE Lightscribe 18x DVD burner
2x Seagate 400GB SATA Barracuda 7200.10
VisionTek X1650 HDMI
19" MAG LCD monitor (for now) - eventually 24" ACER getting connected

Gotta say the Antec 900 seems like it's gonna be great for cooling. Once I get this puppy up & running, I'll definitely test its limits - hopefully I'll get north of 3.4 GHz. That 200mm fan is huge!

One nit - one of the SATA ports on the IP35-E is damaged/defective - plastic cover came off exposing pins below, I've just avoided connecting anything to it.

Thanks for any & all suggestions.

Are you talking about the black SATA housing? Are the pins still soldered to the MB? Do you have a clip-on SATA housing? You could contact Abit for a replacement housing.

Strip the board bare (very important). Put it on the shipping box. Remove the battery and clear CMOS. Install only CPU, GPU, mouse, keyboard, and one stick of RAM. Wait 1/2 hour before replacing the battery and CMOS jumper. Connect the 24/20 and 8/4 pin power plugs from the PSU. Short the two power pins on the MB to start PC. You should see a video signal to the monitor. Try all four RAM slots and the other stick of RAM.

What is the module number of your RAM?

The black SATA housing for one of the four SATA ports was loose (came off) & one pin beneath is bent, probably not fixable. OK, I just checked, it came loose off the board - write off that port.

I'll try the things you recommended, I really think my problem is with video or memory. The video card (supposedly) doesn't require extra power like some others. I have 4 GB of matched memory right now. The memory is Crucial Ballistix PC-6400 DDR2-800 part # 72596 4-4-4-12 2.2V - maybe the 2.2V is a problem, I'll swap it out for some of the HPDDR2-667 purchased a while ago. If necessary, I'll try going back to the basic 128 MB GeForce MX4000 PCIe card I have as a backup.

Thanks for the suggestions, Serp ...

I would RMA for the damaged/faulty SATA port.
However, try using just 1 DIMM & if it POSTS enter the BIOS & set the 2.2V before installing more.
