NEW A8N-SLI Deluxe Beta Bios 1008.001

There is a new beta bios up on the Asus site. If you try it post your experiences here.

Is this the fix to the illusive 250 1T issue? I won't be able to try it until I get some work off of my desk.

Get it here.

edit: for this one I had to click the "Beta" button, then the highlighted "DOS" link and finally the "EUROPE" link to download.

Still terrible on my board🙁 My max HTT on this bios is 235mhz:thumbsdown:regardless of settings. All of the bios's past 1004 suck on my board, I don't know if they droped the chipset voltage and mine needs more or what. I sure hope 1004 will post with my new San Diego or I will most likely be stuck at 235mhz until a bios that works better with my board comes along, or I get tired of waiting and get another mobo🙁

Daddy,

Are you sure your CPU isn't the problem. All A8N boards I've heard of have been hitting 250FSB without problems at 4x HT.

Correction, mine caps at 245FSB but I'm certain it is CPU bound.

Yeah, I'm sure. I flashed back to 1004, and I can run HTT up to 325mhz, and the settings I've been running since December 289x9=2601mhz works fine. Flash 1007 and I'm stuck at 235mhz, flash back to 1004 and I'm fine again. It's definately not the CPU

that is weird, i have got 250x10 at stock voltages and stable with 1007. havent gone over that, no time to tweak settings and test. but that seems pretty random that it would not let you past 235 when you have hit 325 before. maybe the bios is configuring something on the auto setting differently than before. and, as i am sure you are aware of this, is memery affecting the overclock, different settings or divider, or is it identical just different bios. are you clearing the cmos each time, i know that has made my computer dislike overclocks before, swtiching between 1003, 1004 and 1006. might be a good idea if you have not already. Just tryen to help.

Thanks

I think the one thing I haven't tried is clearing CMOS, I will try that when I get home and install the new 3700+. I kind of doubt it will help because when I flash back to 1004, I don't clear the CMOS and it works fine. I have gone back and forth from 1004 to 1007 four times always with the same result, so I don't think I'm getting a bad flash. I have also tried the 1007 and 1008.1 from a couple of different FTP sites. I have also tried all the different nVidia drivers, and I have even tried uninstalling the NV ide drivers that have never been a problem for me, but others have reported problems with. I've about run out of things to try, I guess something about my board or my setup just doesn't like this bios

overclocked beta 1008.001

1004 Final- 2430/270htt/226mem cas2.5 -7.4.4 2t -270x4HTT (1080HTL)

1007 beta- 2561/320htt/160mem cas2 -5.3.3 2t -320x3HTT (960HTL)

1007 Final, at stock speed several BSODs data corruption on the WD nvraid-0
freeze in BIOS accessing memory timings- freeze 0-1% formatting nvraid-0 during install

1008 beta- 2509/313htt/250mem cas 2.5 -7.4.4 2t -313x4HTT (1250HTL)

My RAM is not stable at 1t on this system or my intel rig at any speed 🙁
However I think i got a nice overclock out of this new beta bios
got my HTT to run 313x4 (1250HTL) for over 7 hours prime 95 last night with no errors on the blender test.
