well this is what it says.

A7V ACPI BIOS 1005.B final (=1005 beta 003-I / 30.12.2000)

you figure it out. it was released today though.

I'll give it a try.

You can find it here.

Update: first remember, if you install this bios. the first time you reboot reset all the defaults - save and HARD reboot again. Then go and do your mods.

The boot seemed faster than 1004D and it found two new hardware devices, 1 was the VIA Tech Power Management controler, whatever that is?
and second it found the communicatons port, d'oh it's my two comm ports that I had disable, gota do that again.

so far so good. I like it.

1005 is the best BIOS Asus has had... its super stable and it fixes alot of lockup problems people had.

what about the temperature issues? have they been fixed in this bios? are they back to the temps that 1003 had?
another thing was that with the 1004, i wasn't able to overclock the fsb....but i could with the 1003. has this been fixed with the 1005?

Hi,
I have an A7V rev.1.01. The 1005 final Bios caused me problems with reboot (crash with cold reboot). Does anybody having the same specs tried 1005B ? Does it work ?
Cheers.

Have a rev 1.02, I didnt really notice much difference, cept it let me turn on fast writes without any stability problems, and I got to 945 MHz without any problems(cept for my heat problems that are due to a completely unventilated case:().

jeffLX - I have A7V rev 1.01 also. I'll try out this BIOS and see how it goes. When you hit the reboot button, your system just crashes? Also, does anyone know what the latest rev is? Thanks.

Hi,
Mosdeef : I'll watch for your post. Yes, when I cold booted (with 1005 final), or sometimes reset the system (from Win2k) - but only one or twice in two weeks, the machine hanged : black screen (monitor powered down), no keyboard nor mouse.
------------------------------------------------------
My machine, in case you'd have something near :
A7V + TBird 800 Mhz (non OC) + Alpha 6035PalMuc (40 C° idle - 45 C° under load)
IBM desktar ATA 100 on Promise controler (worked fine with 1004D)
Asus V7700 GTS2
Two standard NICs and a Sound Blaster Live 1024
CD + CD-RW

I heard tell about rev. 1.04 sold in Japan, but looks like they are A7V with KT133 PRO...
Never heard of 1.03, but lots of 1.02... I must say I find it a bit confusing and discomforting for people (like me) who bought a brand new card at its higher price for something we might suspect not being quite tested (since two or three revs were issued later). Don't you think so ?

Cheers.
