MSI K8N Neo4 Plat - $104

AMD 64 3000+ Venice 939 BW - $114
- Anyone kno if the BW, or BP revisions on this are better?

X800XL PCIe - $275

Rest of the system i'm using parts from my current rig: Corsair Value 2x512mb, Audigy, Antec 3700BQE

Right now i'm having some trouble with finding what PSU i should get. Do I need a 24pin PSU with that mobo, or ATX2.0?

I was thinking of a Seasonic 380/430, but I don't kno if those properly support PCIe, and that mobo. I'd prefer to spend under $75 on a new PSU. I will prob be upgrading my vidcard to a 7800gt in the future when the price drops more, so plz take that into consideration.

edit: just saw the sticky reguarding PSUs :) Well, looks like I could keep my current Antec Trupower 430, or upgrade, hmmmm....?

2.0 and 24 pin are the same

If you can't afford a seasonic 500w or an enermax 535w whisper II... Get an antec smartpower 500w.

for $49.99, you can't beat this power supply

link

if you want to spend a bit more, then pick this. this power supply is not only beautiful, but delivers amazing performance and has been stressfully tested by Fortron to have the most accurate ratings. it performs better than some more expensive power supplies

i do.

but thats only because i use them in my machines and because i know that their components are top notch.

also, Fortron designs and makes its own power supplies, unlike many others. They test their power supplies at higher temperatures and under more stressful conditions as well, so it is more accurate.

for example, Dell uses 250W Fortrons/Sparkles (same company) in their computers. Many of those computers have 6800GT's or 6800 Ultras in them and the 250W Fortron handles them perfectly. now tell me what other company can you say that about

keep in mind that manufacturers of 6800gt's and ultras recommend over over a 400W power supply. the reason Dell has Fortrons/Spakles in its pcs is because they last longer, are cheaper and give you better performance than other makers
