Greetings all!
I just received my new 9700pro that I purchased through Imagestore.us and plugged it into my Abit IS7 mobo AGP slot. Everything seemed to be OK, except that I noticed some screen corruption on my BIOS post screen. Didn't think much of it since I figured that I still needed to install it.
Got to Windows OK under VGA and downloaded the newest display driver from ATI (right off the website). Installed the driver and rebooted.
Still had the screen corruption in BIOS, but then it wouldn't even get into Windows. The screen displayed a weird fuzzy blue-ish screen with artifacts all over. It also went into a dark screen with columns of corruption elements.
So, I did a hard reboot. POST in BIOS again had corruption, but this time the screen went blank after the white Win2K screen.
Went out and purchased a new PSU (500W) to make sure that I was getting enough juice to the card.
Uninstalled everything, put in an old 7500 vid card and uninstalled drivers. This time, I plugged in the 9700pro again and installed the drivers that came in the box. Same thing.
I have flashed by BIOS to the newest version, tried unplugging all peripherals, reseating the AGP card...
I'm at a loss. Is there anything else I should try or is it time for an RMA?
Any help here would be appreciated.
